NATURAL SAND /75 ASTM E | Matest
However, the abrasion requirement for interlocking concrete pavers is debated in the light of ASTM C standards. When used in conjunction with e9665 physical tests, the macrotexture depth values derived from this test method may be used to determine the pavement skid resistance capability and the suitability of paving materials or finishing techniques.

It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. The knowledge of pavement macrotexture depth serves as a tool in characterizing the pavement surface texture. Referenced Documents purchase separately The documents listed below are referenced within the subject standard but are not provided as part of the standard.
This test method is not meant to provide a complete assessment of pavement surface texture characteristics.
Investigating Abrasion Resistance of Interlocking Blocks Incorporating Steel Slag Aggregate

The technique is designed to provide an average depth value of only the pavement macrotexture and is considered insensitive to pavement microtexture characteristics. ASTM E965 – 15
The object of the study is to investigate the possibility and effect of replacing natural coarse aggregate in concrete paving block with electrical arc furnace slag EAFS to enhance its properties. The abrasion resistance and compressive strength of the slag-based mixtures showed higher values compared to the control mixture with asttm limestone aggregate.
The effect of different mixing ratios of EAFS on abrasion resistance, compressive strength, and water absorption were evaluated. Improvements in pavement finishing practices and maintenance schedules may result from use of this test method. This paper aims to introduce steel slag as a green construction material.
The pavement surface to be measured using this test method must be dry and free of any construction residue, surface debris, and loose aggregate particles that would be displaced astn removed during normal environmental and traffic conditions.
When used with other tests, care should be taken that all tests are applied at the same location.
