I mean of the Lord of the Rings series, this was probably my least favorite. I’m not interested in the Fourth Age! And I like to think that this is true in real life as well. Don’t get me wrong, Guys!

Yet, my biggest complaint about this book is due to the characters. Tolkien certainly has a wonderful imagination.

Two complaints as a whole series: This review really sucks, but I have a hard time putting my feelings togheter as you can see. However, it seems that Tolkien could not simply kill him off. Want to Read saving…. The trilogy is divided into 6 books and that kind of construction just made everything more boring.

I gave this book 4. Why didn’t Gandalf take the ring to Mount Doom on the back of an eagle.

The climax felt incredibly short, as did the battle and the ring was destroyed less than three-quarters of the way through. All that fuzz about a ring that prtsenova turn you invisible?

This ;rstenova to Frodo and all the things he did throughout the course of the story are incredible. He wrote them letters each year as if from Santa Claus, and a selection of these was published in as The Father Christmas Letters.

That said, my favorite part was everything after the Ring is destroyed, and Sam and Frodo woke up and found that they had indeed survived. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. Although I mostly skipped the pages and read only the parts I find interesting, I want to give this book 3,5 stars. It feels especially awkward because Legolas and Gimli really did grow in the second book. But unfortunately I read it in English which sound very old comparing to the novels written nowadays. It’s not usually happily ever after. Withoutabox Submit to Film Festivals. Here is the cutest exchange in the whole trilogy: It seems as if Tolkien was hinting at this all along, constantly bringing up the pain in Frodo’s shoulder and pointing out that he’s never fully whole again and he’s been “too deeply hurt”. The last line of this book is amazing. And it’s one of the few books where I found myself happy with the ending.

When I got this this final one, I already knew I’d be sad to say goodbye to all the characters I’d fallen hardcore for over the pages betw Book Review 4 of 5 stars to The Return of the Kingthe third book in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, written inby J.
